Ocala Realtor® Installed As District Vice President of Florida’s Largest Professional Association

ORLANDO, Fla., January 2009 – James K. “Butch” Owen, broker/owner, Tri-County Realty Group Inc. in Ocala, has been installed as District 7 vice president of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association. A member of the Ocala/Marion County Association of Realtors and the Greater Lake County Association of Realtors, Owen will serve his fellow professionals in District 7, which encompasses Lake, Sumter, Hernando, Marion and Citrus counties.

Active in general real estate, Owen is past president of his local association and was chair of its Professional Standards committee from 2001 to 2007 (with exception of 2003). He also previously served as secretary/treasurer for the local association and was most recently MLS President in 2007.On the state level, Owen was a FAR director from 2004-2008; in the community, he is actively involved with his church and the local chamber of commerce.

As FAR district vice president, Owen says he’s looking forward to working with real estate colleagues throughout the area. “I have worked with a lot of members in the district over the years. I enjoy serving and enjoy dealing with people and opportunities as they arise,” he says.
